Unlocking my writing potential with Somali Public Agenda amazing blog writing training opportunity

Blogging is super important for me. In August 2023, I began writing blog posts to make a positive difference in the Somali community. However, I faced challenges because I lacked skills in blog writing and creating websites. Despite this, fueled by my determination and passion, I took on the challenge. Thankfully, I received one month of training in blog writing at the Somali Public Agenda (SPA) in January 2024, which made pursuing my dream of blogging much easier.

The most valuable aspect of the course was the opportunity it provided for writing blogs. Throughout the training, I had the opportunity to meet with experienced Somali bloggers in Mogadishu, which was unexpected but amazing. These trainers and mentors wrote about various topics in different languages. They shared their experiences, challenges, and opportunities in blog writing, helping me learn how to craft captivating and impactful blog posts. They also reviewed my posts and gave me feedback, which helped me learn from my mistakes.

After completing the blog writing course at SPA, I found myself with improved skills in creating engaging blog posts. The training gave me fresh insights and valuable tips that streamlined my writing process, allowing me to be more creative and impactful in my content creation.

In Somalia, there’s a great need for legal awareness and general legal knowledge in the community to promote peace, development, and the rule of law. I want to help my fellow Somalis get a grip on their rights and the rules that affect them through my blogs. I can break down all the complicated legal stuff into easy-to-understand bits. I am passionate about continuing to write blog posts and hope that my contributions will positively transform human rights and access to justice in Somalia.

I am incredibly grateful to the Somali Public Agenda for providing this unique opportunity. They brought together impactful blog writers and motivated young Somalis like myself, creating a supportive environment for learning and growth. This opportunity has allowed us to unlock my writing potential and contribute positively to the development of our country.

My blog writing isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way to help my community understand the law, get involved, and make things better for everyone.
